Grey Rock Cabins: Perfect Getaway in Balamban, Cebu

Last time, I wrote about the nice-looking vacation house in the city—yet away from the crowded areas—that’s perfect for unwinding. It’s the villa at Grey Rock Cabins.

A lovely night at Grey Rock Cabins in Balamban, Cebu

Grey Rock Cabins is an amazing vacation house in Balamban, Cebu that offers both a villa and a cabin. According to the Booking.com site, the villa can accommodate 23 people, while the cabin can accommodate about 6 people.

Check availability and book on Booking.com

• Cabin: Click Here

Ever since I posted a video on TikTok about our experience staying at one of their cabins, many people have been asking about it. Now, let me spell out some details.

This is the poolside area of the villa.

About Their Villa

It is awesome. It’s perfect for large groups or big families. It has a swimming pool, a karaoke area, and a chimney in the living room (ideal for the cold weather in the mountains where it is located). Aside from the dining area near the living room, it also has an alfresco dining area and more. (for more details, click here.)

About Their Cabins

Their cabins are also very nice, and they create a different vibe—more like glamping.

For breakfast, you can cook your own meal since there’s a cooking area available. The setup is charming, with a cozy outdoor retreat vibe. Plus, they provide essential ingredients such as rice, eggs, and more.

By the way, the banana loaf in this photo
isn’t included — we brought it.

Additionally, there’s free coffee and water available, as well as all the kitchen utensils you’ll need.

The cabin is very spacious; it has four beds—two on the second floor and two on the first floor.

Tip: If you can’t pin the address for 'Grey Rock Cabins' on Google Maps, please pin Gaas, Balamban’s Barangay Hall instead, as it is very close.

Special thanks to the groom’s best man for this amazing
honeymoon gift at Grey Rock Cabins. Thank you so much!

For those who want to have a setup like this or have other inquiries, feel free to message them on their official Facebook or Instagram pages.

Enjoying our favorite Japanese sparkling sake, Mio Clear, with
this amazing view. It’s truly a wonderful mini-moon for us, and we
are so grateful for this incredible gift.

Grey Rock Cabins truly offers the perfect blend of comfort and nature, making it an ideal getaway for families, couples, or friends. Don’t miss the chance to experience this cozy mountain retreat!

Staycation At JPark Island Resort & Waterpark Cebu

To celebrate my little sister's birthday, my mom, little sister, husband, and I had a staycation at JPark Island Resort & Waterpark Cebu. It was actually our first time visiting the place, and we are grateful to Kuya Jim (my husband's cousin, who was our official photographer on our wedding day) for the opportunity. Thanks to him, we were able to take advantage of this amazing experience because the Cebu Weddings Supplier team was holding an event, and we luckily received a discount as family members. Isn’t that amazing? Yes, I know.

I don't have everything in life, but having this blessing (the gift of family,
love & to be loved, amazing people) makes me feel rich. I'm beyond grateful for it.

Flexing you all my super amazing sister
(read my blog dedicated to her: Click Here)

What Makes Jpark So Amazing?

While there are many places in Cebu for a staycation, Jpark is unequivocally amazing as it offers plenty of activities. Jpark is perfect for family getaways, providing ample space and a variety of water activities suitable for both children and adults.

1. Water Activities

Great water activities that both kids and adults would truly enjoy: Waterpark Attractions, Beach Activities, Water Sports, and even Poolside Activities.

My husband and sister are both enjoying the water
activities, including the slides and more.

Here's my sister and me enjoying the pool.

2. Recreational Area

There's an amazing thematic and recreational area for kids – their Pororo Park. If you have kids, I highly recommend including the Pororo Park entrance fee in your budget, or even staying at their Pororo Suite; your children will surely love it.

3. Restaurants

There are numerous restaurants to satisfy your cravings after a relaxing day at the beach. You can choose to dine by the beach, by the pool, or even in the hotel dining area.

Note: There's more, but these are the only pictures I have.

4. Beautiful Place

An aesthetically beautiful place that offers a great option to enjoy both the pool and the beach.

5. Breakfast

Great breakfast options with its vast cuisine choices, including Japanese, Korean, Filipino, and more.

Note: There's more, but these are the only pictures I have.

Lastly, their rooms are so amazing, and the aesthetics remind me of the hotel we stayed at in Japan.

Your Peculiar Baguio Travel Guide

Baguio City, also known as the "City of Pines" or the "Summer Capital" (of the Philippines), is a mountainous town in the Luzon part of the Philippines. Notable for its cold temperature, strawberries, and pine trees (things that are uncommon for a tropical country).

Yours truly at the Botanical Garden in Baguio City

To say nothing of this place is well-admired by Filipinos and even foreigners. So, since this place is a famous spot already, I presume that most of you have already read some travel guide blogs. Yet, this blog is a guide for you to have a relaxing time in Baguio.

Here are the list of relaxing things to do in Baguio:

1.  Dine at Pizza Volante

Trying on delicious food is always on the agenda. Pizza Volante is one of the famous pizza restaurants in Baguio.

Check my previous blog on Pizza Volante. READ: Click here

2. Boat riding at Burnham Lake

Burnham Park is one of the historical parks in the Philippines and one of the most popular. On the other hand, Burnham Lake, also known as "City Lake". It is an iconic man-made and century-old lake.

The iconic Burnham Lake, Baguio City

Paddling at Burnham Lake is one of the famous must-try activities if you visit Baguio City. Something that you shouldn't miss.

3.  Eat Strawberry Ice Cream and Strawberry Taho

As stated above, besides the cold weather and pine trees, Baguio is also famous for Strawberries. So, leaving Baguio without trying the delicious Strawberry Ice Cream and Strawberry Taho is a no-no.

the Strawberry Taho bought just near our hotel

What is Taho?

Taho is the staple comfort food of most Filipinos, made from silken Tofu and tapioca pearls with a sweet syrup (commonly vanilla syrup, but there are lots of substitute ingredients, for example, in Baguio: it's Strawberry syrup or Purple Yam syrup).

4. Botanical Garden

If you are a person into flowers, then this place is for you as there are a variety of flowers to see. Since Baguio is a cold place, some flowers are uniquely beautiful. Plants that only grow in colder regions.

Other than flowers, there are also some things to enjoy. For instance, take a picture at the replicas of famous landmarks in some countries, such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco (and more), and experience wearing the traditional Igorot (indigenous people) costume.

5. Camp John Hay Starbucks

Imagine a serene ambiance with cold weather, the pine trees surrounding the area, and a cup of good coffee at hand. It's perfection!

Bonus entry. Last but not the least . . .

Strawberry Picking at La Trinidad, Benguet

Geographically speaking, Benguet is not a park of Baguio City anymore, and La Trinidad is a first-class capital of the province of Benguet. It is known as the strawberry and rose capital of the Philippines.

However, the strawberry farm in La Trinidad is quite close to Baguio City. It is more or less just 30 minutes away via taxi or modern Jeep (the means of transport we used in visiting the place). So, no wonder if people think of Baguio, it is always associated with strawberry.
