Must-try Food In Singapore

"Food is life" is the famous word of mouth these days. That's why when we (my partner and I) travel, we always see to it allocating a bigger budget for food.

Here are some of the Hawker Centres and Restaurants (where we dined) in Singapore:

LAU PA SAT. Is one of the famous Hawker Centre in Singapore near the heart of the financial district, located at the corner of  Boon Tat Street. Few steps away from the Raffles Place MRT station. Here are some of the must-try food there:

Fish Ball Noodle Soup

From the name itself, it has some fish balls, noodles, minced and thinly sliced meat, and a few vegetables. It is served hot.

Chicken Rice with Soup

Shredded Chicken Macaroni

It's a soup-like meal with some macaroni, chicken, and some green-leafy vegetable. It is also served hot.

Mango Milk Ice at KOPITIAM

Like a shaved ice with milk and mango. Nothing special (for the ingredient) yet so delicious.

Also, this Hawker Centre is perfect to dine after taking a picture with the Merlion and Marina Bay Sands since it is just a few steps away.

MAXWELL FOOD CENTRE. Another famous Hawker Centre where it's best to try genuine local dishes. It is located in the center of Chinatown. This place was once an old market transformed into Hawker Centre. "Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice" is one of the most popular food stalls there. It is one of the two hawker stalls with Michelin Star at Maxwell.

Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice

Unlike other Chicken Rice (see picture above) it has sauce. One spicy sauce and a bit sweetened. Also, the rice tastes good as well. It has some special toppings added to it.

Since "Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice" food stall is very famous, the queue to get your order is long. You need to be extra patient but I promise, rest assured it is worth it.

TONG HENG DELICACIES - ChinatownPersonally, I don't like to eat egg tarts not until I tasted the Tong Heng Delicacies Egg tart in Chinatown. The taste that makes you crave to eat more. You can buy it for just SGD 1.90.

Tong Heng Delicacies - Egg Tart

It's flaky and delectable.

ABC NASI KANDAR RESTAURANT- Little India. Is an Indian Restaurant right in front of the Meriton Hotel in Little India, Singapore. Five-minute walk away from Bugis MRT Station.

the must-try Chicken Biryani

It is a mixed rice dish with some vegetables. Chicken and spicy sauce.

To be candid, it's my first time trying Indian food. I never thought that it was so delicious.

HONG KONG SHENG KEE DESSERT - Serangoon
Serangoon is the Nort-East Region of Singapore. Since my cousin on my father's side lives and works there as a nurse. So, we visited her and ate at Serangoon Mall in Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert.

Braised Pork Belly with Mui Chuy Rice

The meat is so tender. The style of cooking is like a traditional Filipino food named "Humba".

HK Char Siew Noodle

It's like a dry noodle with meat.

For our dessert we had — SK Mango Pomelo Sago

The restaurant's cuisine is Hong Kong-style from the name itself. Actually, it's my first time trying Hong Kong food. No much difference in Chinese style yet was delicious.

CHANGI AIRPORT Food Court. Changi Airport Singapore is the world's top one best airport (2019) for the 7th consecutive year. Excellent amenities and convenience. Well, it is no surprise that they also have an amazing dining area. Ordering food is even unique. You'll just go to the machine located at the center. Click the name of the food stall that you like, choose the food that you want to order, and insert your money. Then get your number and go to the stall that you chose. Present your number and . . . viola! You got your food. So hassle-free.

For the love of Chicken Rice. Tadaaa!
"Changi Airport Singapore's Food Court - Chicken Rice"

Unfortunately, I forgot the name of this food but it's like sticky rice with some meat on it.

According to George Bernard Shaw author of Man and Superman There is no love sincerer than the love of food.” I totally agree. For me, other than learning a new culture, trying out local dishes is essential in traveling.

If you've also tried some of the food in Singapore don't forget to drop some comments below. Thank you.
