Never in my wildest dreams have I imagined that I would come to write a blog like this. Anyway, let me share with you first why I was isolated and became a P.U.M. or Person Under Monitoring.
It all began when my 56-year-old roommate (because of our new normal working style which is stay-in) got a fever. Yes, she got a fever but she was just thankfully negative of the COVID-19. Despite this, I still should be isolated to follow the safety protocols.
Twas for fourteen (14) days that my view was just the four walls. My routine was to eat, sleep, exercise, YouTube or movie, check myself if I felt something strange even my body temperature then REPEAT.
My situation was somehow devastating . . . until I get used to it. Indeed it's true that the hardest part is the first few days of embracing your situation and this applies to any walks of life.
To say nothing of this blog is all about the things I learned when I was a P.U.M.
5 things I learned
1. ACCEPTANCE. The most difficult thing yet the most important. Accept your situation that you are isolated for some reason.
It is not only for yourself but also for the welfare of the people around you. To combat the spread of the virus (if ever) as well.
2. BE CAUTIOUS. Be cautious about your health all time. You have to eat healthily, sleep well, and exercise as much as possible.
3. CHOOSE YOUR MUSIC AND MOVIES WELL. Avoid watching sad movies or listening to sad songs. Your mental health is also a factor for staying well.
4. CHERISH THE GOOD ONES. Cherish the good people who are with you even at your darkest moment (being isolated). They're the people who love and care for you the most.
5. PRAY. Most of all pray. Prayer is truly the most powerful weapon in any undertakings we have.
To anyone of you reading this who happens to be a P.U.M, P.U.I. (Person/Patient Under Investigation), or even a patient of COVID-19 I'm sending my warmest hug to you all. Keep on fighting and keep on praying.
