Siem Reap Cambodia In A Day: The Ultimate Tour Challenge

Some people say roaming around Angkor Wat in a day is not possible. Well, Angkor Wat is huge indeed yet we took the challenge of discovering Siem Reap for just a day due to limited time because before we went to Cambodia, we had a trip in Ho Chi Minh City (check out my blog about Ho Chi Minh City: click here).

Anyway, let me share the activities we had in "ONE DAY TOUR CHALLENGE in Siem Reap".

1. WE VISITED THE TEMPLES. How? We rented Tuk Tuk just for $18 USD  (this is the cheapest package). Shout out to our Tuk Tuk driver who is very kind and accommodating (sorry I couldn't share any contact information of our Tuk Tuk driver because his facebook ID was lost). Anyway, first we woke up early around 3 am to meet our Tuk Tuk driver at 4 am to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat (because it is recommendable to see the sunrise there). Next is we bought a ticket to enter the temples. It is recommendable to buy a ticket as early as 5 am due to the long queue of buying a ticket. (one ticket for all temples = cost $37 USD) Then we went to Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, Preah Khan Temple, Phimeanakas Temple, Phnom Bakheng Temple, and lastly the Ta Prohm Temple or also known as Tomb Raider Temple.

For our breakfast:

The hotel prepared a packed breakfast for us. So, we just ate at the Angkor Wat while waiting for the sunrise. Actually, there's no need to worry about breakfast because there are many food stalls there.

Note:
Don't throw or lost your ticket because every time you enter a temple they will check it.

At around 12:00 noon, we head back to the hotel to eat lunch.  Actually, there are lots of food stalls near temples (as I mentioned) yet we choose to go back to the hotel because there are lots of restaurants near there and we wanted to try lots of Cambodian traditional food.

2.  THE STREET FOODSThere are a lot of restaurants, shops, and even street food stalls nearby our hotel. Few meters away from our hotel, we saw a small food shop. It's like a small "Carinderia" (Filipino term meaning a food stall with a small seating area, typically in a market or, at, a roadside). They serve very delicious and affordable food.

3. THE PUB STREET. Do you like drinking? The Pub Street in Siem Reap is so fun. Also, there are various alcohols to choose from, from whiskey to cocktails. Not only alcohol but also juices, ice creams, and food stalls.

(The Angkor Beer - Price: $1 USD)

4. SHOPPING FOR SOUVENIRS.  Actually, shopping for souvenirs is not a big thing because it is just near the Pub Street and some souvenir shops like bazaar are just located few meters away from Pub Street.

Note: It is advisable to use USD Currency in Cambodia for convenience.

Thank you, everyone!
