Siem Reap Cambodia In A Day: The Ultimate Tour Challenge

Some people say roaming around Angkor Wat in a day is impossible. Well, Angkor Wat is huge indeed, yet we took the challenge of discovering Siem Reap in just one day due to limited time because before we went to Cambodia, we had a trip in Ho Chi Minh City (check out my blog about Ho Chi Minh Cityclick here).

Anyway, let me share the activities we did in the "ONE DAY TOUR CHALLENGE in Siem Reap."

1. WE VISITED THE TEMPLES

How? We rented a Tuk Tuk for just $18 USD (this is the cheapest package). Shout out to our Tuk Tuk driver who was very kind and accommodating (for our Tuk Tuk driver’s information, I have a screenshot of his Facebook ID on my YouTube channel. Feel free to visit it). Anyway, first we woke up early around 3 am to meet our Tuk Tuk driver at 4 am to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat (because it is recommended to see the sunrise there). Next, we bought tickets to enter the temples. It is recommended to buy tickets as early as 5 am due to the long queues. (One ticket for all temples = $37 USD.) Then we visited Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, Preah Khan Temple, Phimeanakas Temple, Phnom Bakheng Temple, and lastly, the Ta Prohm Temple, also known as the Tomb Raider Temple.

For our breakfast:

The hotel prepared a packed breakfast for us, so we just ate at Angkor Wat while waiting for the sunrise. Actually, there's no need to worry about breakfast because there are many food stalls there.

Note:

Don’t throw away or lose your ticket because every time you enter a temple, they will check it.

At around 12:00 noon, we headed back to the hotel to eat lunch. Actually, there are lots of food stalls near the temples (as I mentioned), yet we chose to go back to the hotel because there are many restaurants nearby, and we wanted to try a variety of traditional Cambodian food.

2. THE STREET FOODS

There are a lot of restaurants, shops, and even street food stalls near our hotel. A few meters away from the hotel, we saw a small food shop. It's like a small carinderia (a Filipino term meaning a food stall with a small seating area, typically in a market or roadside). They serve very delicious and affordable food.

3. THE PUB STREET

Do you like drinking? Pub Street in Siem Reap is so much fun! There are various alcoholic drinks to choose from, ranging from whiskey to cocktails. Not only alcohol, but you can also find juices, ice cream, and food stalls.

4. SHOPPING FOR SOUVENIRS

Actually, shopping for souvenirs is not a big deal because it's just near Pub Street, and some souvenir shops, like bazaars, are located just a few meters away.

Note: It is advisable to use USD currency in Cambodia for convenience.

Thank you, everyone!
