Top Things To Do In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh or commonly known as Saigon is the city in the southern part of Vietnam prominent for the war history. It is also known for its French Colonial Landmarks.

Here are some of the few things to do in Ho Chi Minh City:

1. SHOPPING MALLS. Just like many other countries Ho Chi Minh City has plenty of dining outlets and entertainment centers to fill your time and tummy.

SHOPPING MALLS

SAIGON CENTRE - A five-minute walk from Benh Thanh Market, Saigon Square is a two-story wholesale fashion mall that offers some of the best prices in Ho Chi Minh City.

VINCOM CENTER- it is the largest shopping mall in Ho Chi Minh City.

(Note: These are just a few pictures we have got on their shopping malls.)

2. THE SAIGON CENTRAL POST OFFICE. The post office in the downtown of Ho Chi Minh City, few steps away from Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city's cathedral. The building was established when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the late 19th century. It counts with the Gothic-Renaissance and French influences. It was constructed between the year 1886-1891.

The man in the picture is "Ho Chi Minh"the Prime Minister before in Saigon or Ho Chi Minh (now).

The City was named after him.

3. THE NOTRE-DAME CATHEDRAL BASILICA OF SAIGON. Formally as the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception. The cathedral is located in the central area of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Constructed by French colonists who named it as Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Saïgon at first, the cathedral was erected between the years 1863 and 1880. It has two bell towers, reaching a height of 58 meters (190 feet).

4. THE WAR REMNANTS MUSEUM. This museum contains exhibits relating to the Vietnam War and the First Indochina War involving the French colonialists.

Note: It is not just a normal 3D painting. It represents the jails where the American soldiers (before) used to torture the Vietnamese people during the war.

5. BEN THANH MARKET. It is a huge marketplace in the center of Saigon in District 1. It is one of the earliest surviving structures in Saigon and vital to the symbol of Ho Chi Minh City, famous for tourists looking for handicrafts, textiles, souvenirs, local cuisine, etc.

6. The must-try VIETNAMESE COFFEE, VIETNAMESE BREAD or also known as "Bánh mì or banh mi" and VIETNAMESE NOODLE or Phở or Pho

Luckily, our hotel serves Pho for breakfast. Yay!

Vietnamese Traditional Coffee and Banh Mi

It's quite strong yet flavorful coffee. Perfect for the tasty bread

Note: There's a famous Vietnamese noodle shop in District 1, across the bust stop
(the noodle shop where we ate, but unfortunately we couldn't able to take photos
as our phone ran out of battery). The name is Phở Quỳnh

7. THE PUB STREET OF HO CHI MINH OR THE BUI VIEN STREET. The area is very unique to unwind after a very long day of touring around the city for its pub's location.

Note: It is recommendable for a traveler to stay at District 1 for convenience. (in my view because) District 1 is downtown in Saigon.
